LAS VEGAS,
NV
Maddy and I have been married 32 years. I taught in
Freeport, L.I. for 33 years as a classroom teacher,
remedial math teacher, math specialist and finally
District Computer Specialist.
I led many
workshops for parents and children throughout Long
Island. My educational songs and software were
duplicated for every elementary classroom in the
district and were sold Internationally.
In 1988, I was
runner-up for "Teacher of the Year" and a year
later I was awarded the honor. In 1990-1994, I was
re-nominated by my Superintendent even though I was
not eligible to win it again!
In 2002, I
retired and we moved to Las Vegas. Maddy has worked
as an Experienced Evaluator for the past 20 years.
Our daughter, Stacey married her sweetheart, Bill
Davis. They have 4 daughters and Bill has 4
brothers They live in a suburb of Baltimore. Stacey
is Clinical Supervisor at Kolmac Outpatient
Recovery Centers.
I'm a Computer
expert, involved in my community and enjoy
entertaining guests, and traveling mostly in the
U.S. I love the action here in Vegas and of course,
the food! Most of all, I love having
fun.
On Dec 5, 2023,
Maddy and I became Great Grandparents! The oldest
of Stacey and Bills 4 daughters, Karlyee,
gave birth to her new son, Dakotah.
I created this
website in 2006 and through much research, I
located as many members as I could possibly find.
I'd like to keep this website going so that HOB
will remain alive in our hearts and minds for a
long time.
I am very pleased
to announce that we have renewed our website for
another 5 years.
Long live the
House of Bamboo!

Myra and I met in
1962 when I was a junior at QC and she was a senior
at Jamaica H.S. On Thursday, January 25, 1962, my
friend Arthur invited me to his fraternity party.
Approaching the house in which the party was being
held, two young ladies were coming from the
opposite direction. One turned and said to the
other, If this is any example of who is
coming tonight, we'll be getting home early.
These were the first words that I ever heard spoken
by my future wife! Of course, our favorite song
became Sweet Thursday by Johnny Mathis.
On coming to QC,
Myra became a member of Hilltop House. We were
married in 1965. Some of my closest HOB buddies,
and co-founding members, were ushers at our
wedding, including Spencer Curtis, Herb Stein,
Barry Weiss and Paul Silk. That's me (in my
capacity as President) in the center of the photo
under "History," on the HOB website. Most of us are
also pictured in the song and dance number from
Follies of 1962. All of the founders came from
Jamaica, Flushing, Bayside and Van Buren H.S.s.
Myra graduated from QC in 1969, having had to work
during the day to pay our bills while I earned my
Ph.D. from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn,
graduating in 1970.
One of the most
gratifying aspects of my time in the laboratory
were the accolades I received for my development of
a specialized dressing for the treatment of severe
burn wounds. On the top of my list of honors was
being named Alumnus of the Year of Queens College
in 1978.
After working as
a bench chemist for a few years I decided to get
into the business side of my industry - medical
devices and pharmaceuticals - and earned an MBA
from Fordham in 1975. After working my way from
Senior Research Scientist in 1972 to Vice President
of Sales and Marketing in 1977, I decided to go out
on my own and founded my consulting firm,
Technology Management Network, LLC, in which I
remained active until 2021. I represented small and
major corporations, as well as attorneys, in
Business Development and Licensing. Myra retired
after a successful career in corporate relocation,
running the northeast office of an major
international relocation company.
We have three
children: Lauren lives in Frisco, TX with her
significant other, Mitch. Her two children,
Samantha (25) and Tyler (20) have careers and
homes; Stephanie and my future never-to-be
son-in-law of 22 years, Kerry, live in the
Hamptons; Eric and his wife Sarah live in Austin
with their kids, Nathan (20) {Go Hoosiers}, Levi
(17) and Jordan (14). In 2021 we relocated to
Austin.
Throughout our
married life we have both been involved in
volunteer work, Myra with Hadassah and both of us
at our synagogue where each of us served in
multiple officer and board positions. Today we
still love sharing our time together.

BONITA SPRINGS,

I was one of the
original members of HoB. I graduated from Queens
College in 1964, and then from NYU Law School in
1967. Although I dated Sandra Feingold, who
belonged to our sister house plan, Hilltop House,
for three years, and we had a plan to share our
lives, it did not include being apart for 35 years.
Sandy changed her name when she married David
Eizenman. She taught school and had two daughters.
I married, moved to Maryland to work for the U.S.
Justice Department and had two sons. Fast forward
35 years. When Sandy and I met by chance in
Washington, D.C. in 2000, we were both available
again. I did not hesitate to take advantage of our
second chance.
We were living in
Alexandria, Va., when I retired after 43 years as a
Government lawyer. It was during a visit with
friends living in Southwest Florida that we
recognized that it was the lifestyle we were
seeking. Five years ago we moved to a new 55+
community in Bonita Springs, Florida. We are active
and busy and consider ourselves very fortunate to
have wonderful friends. Cruising from Ft Lauderdale
and Miami is so convenient, we do it several times
a year. Our four children and ten grandchildren are
very happy for us.
